88 SESSIONS PROMOTION

ALBUM 88'S LIVE CONCERT SERIES

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Album 88 is Georgia State University's own student-led radio show, and has existed on campus for 50 years. I had the opportunity to work with 88 Sessions—their live music organization—and Album 88 to develop a series of concert promotional graphics for their live events at GSU's Cinefest theater, and promotions for off-campus venues. The project focused on creating a flexible, templatized system that could be easily updated for future performances while maintaining a consistent visual identity across their Instagram presence. The biggest consideration was designing something bold and engaging for a student-centered music audience, while also ensuring the layouts could adapt to different artists and show details as the series continues.

FINAL RENDERS

The above example was for an artist named Osquinn, and includes audio from their most popular songs. This was a simple and effective way to make the post adaptable, since I was able to change colors, type, and audio quickly based on different artists. The turn around time for future posts was usually only a day or two, which made templatizing necessary!

The Osquinn one is featured here, but other versions can be seen on the 88 Sessions Instagram.

PISCES

Part of the work I did for 88 Sessions included a short motion graphic for an artist performing at Pisces, a club nearby that is very popular among Atlanta college students.

This was another opportunity to work within established audiences and visual identities.

STORYBOARDS

As part of this project, I started with storyboarding. These helped establish a repeatable design structure that allows new show information to be swapped in efficiently without losing consistency. Working within the existing brand guidelines of 88 Sessions, I focused on building a motion graphic that felt visually aligned with their identity while still leaving room for variation and creative flexibility as they do more shows.
